About the Artist
April Sham is a printmaker, paper maker, and a part-time paper crane folding ninja. Her inspiration comes from the simple things in life such as: eating and encountering natures beauty; watching the sunset while devouring her favorite shave ice on a hill in Kaimuki with her sister, or a spur-of the moment art piece from the abundance of magazine scraps that she's collected from her last origami adventure. April is currently living on the south shore of Oahu, and creates every piece with aloha.
The print represents the culturally significant Ōʻhia Lehua which is "the mother tree of the native Hawaiian forest."
